Master's degree studies
On June 10, 2025, Šimon and I gave a lecture and discussion for students of advertising design at the School of Art and Design in Trenčín . The lecture focused on practical aspects of creative work, creative processes, and building a career in the field of audiovisual creation. After an introductory presentation of our paths to creative work, we focused on how to maintain motivation, where to look for inspiration, and how to effectively transform ideas into resulting projects. We talked about creating a portfolio, the importance of school projects, but also personal experiments, about the software used, and new AI tools. We presented real examples of work from the VŠMU environment, from the visual effects department (AVFX), as well as our own professional outputs. We discussed studying at VŠMU, how to get to the university, how the admissions process and the study itself are, what are the possibilities for cooperation and creation within the school. In the end, we discussed the differences between working in a studio team and working independently. We illustrated both forms of work using our own practical experiences. The students were actively involved throughout the lecture and asked questions, from technical details to life advice. We were very happy to be able to introduce the study and work in the VFX field and share our experiences with the next generation of creative and talented people.
